It's a great achievement.  Thanks to everyone in the fleet for being part of this accomplishment, and a big thanks to all the leaders for their continual efforts to make our fleet a great place to be.

I just wanted to say hello and thanks for letting me be apart of this neat fleet.  I am a beta player so I have been around for some time, so I can be helpful, but will always learn new tricks.  I look forwarded to playing with you all.

Welcome aboard Phallaxia

Oh man, don't say driver coil... lol.  Reminds me how much fun the tour used to be.

BTW, love the uniform.  And for some reason, the collar seems right.  Maybe in some alternate universe, a neck tie might be part of the starfleet dress code...

I definitely like DR better than most of the voth/sphere content.  I do have some complaints, but overall i'm enjoying the game more than i was a year ago.  I just wish i had more time to play, i can barely spend a few hours a week in-game lately.

:) morning .. i was wondering if the loot and EC farming missions are the same on the K.D.F side or are they under different titles or names in the foundry ....  :) .. dinner on the table .. smoked salmon with chicken & steak kabob's  with your choice of sides and drinks sorry no pie  .. have  lot of different types of cake

There's different foundry missions for KDF that have starting locations that are accessible to klingons.

Well i've seen lots of haters posting comments on the various articles that i've read.  Just like with SGU, some people will just say, it's not sg1 related, or, not what i'm used to, so i'm not watching it... Fortunately these will be feature films, so they won't really be relying solely on existing fans for their success.

Like many people, i'm guilty of not being very happy with SGU when it first aired, but since i'm a gate-whore, i watched it anyway.  However, after re-watching it a couple years later, it was a lot better than i thought, and then i was really bummed that it ended.  Of course i would have preferred that SGA continued instead, or ran concurrently with SGU, but i'll take what comes and i'll be grateful for it.  I'm just really hoping that it's not god-awful like the new star trek movies...lol

« on: March 31, 2015, 09:49:44 PM »
You can get them from the "Haggle for Tulaberries" doff mission.  I'm not totally sure, but it might only be available in beta ursae.  And it doesn't come up very often, so check you're doff missions every time you're in that sector block, and you should see it eventually.

I think they can also drop randomly in ground missions, but i don't think i've ever gotten any that way.

Yeah it was announced about a year ago.  We've all been following the developments closely, but unfortunately it's still gonna be while before we see it.  Devlin and Emmerich are also responsible for independence day, and it will be getting made first.

Lots of people are pretty upset that the TV storylines won't be continued, but i'm sure this is probably the best idea for the future of stargate.  There's too much time investment required for a noob to get caught up, so starting fresh will make it easier for new fans to understand.  And i don't really consider it a totally fresh start since it will be based on the original movie.

I'm personally very stoked for this, and i only hope that negative attitudes from fans don't kill the concept like it did with SGU.

Hello Stargate-Union!  I hope everyone is enjoying the 5 year anniversary, i know i am.  I can't remember the last time i visited places like Andoria, or Starbase 39, but i'm happy to do Q's bidding as he sends us across the galaxy to stabilize Omega particles.

In other news, things have been slow in the fleet lately.  We're getting close to tier 5, but fleet activity has been very low, and a large portion of the fleet was inactive for a long period.  When we noticed how many inactive players there were, we realized that our policy for inactive players is kind of excessive.  So we've decided to make a change to our inactive policy.

Until now, members who had not logged in for 90 days were demoted to Lieutenant until they became active again, and members who did not log in for 180 days were viewed as totally inactive and removed from the fleet.

Starting in a couple days, inactivity will change to 30 days and 90 days.  Players who don't log in for 30 days will be demoted to Enlisted while they're inactive, and players who are inactive for 90 days will be removed from the fleet.  Anyone that gets removed will recieve a mail explaining why, and are welcome to re-join when they become active again.

This change is simply due to the large number of inactive players.  We'll be starting a new recruiting effort, and we think it's not very encouraging to new members to see a huge number of inactive players.

To those that have remained active, the entire fleet appreciates your hard work, and we hope to have a larger active roster soon.  We'll also be starting more holdings projects, but if you contribute resources and recieve a decent amount of credits, please remember to go to the starbase and use some of those credits on some doffs for starbase projects.  Part of the point of adding more projects is to help complete ALL the projects, so please try to contribute in all areas of the holdings, and not just fleet marks and other easy to obtain resources.

Happy new year

Well i'm pretty stoked about the new ground zone, the undine stuff, and the new pvp system.  And Tuvok doing more missions is great, but i wish they would use him in an stf or something that i'll want to play often.

I'm skeptical about the crafting system though.  I always hoped for a good crafting system in sto, but i worry that it will still be just a money sink with no real diverse crafting capability.

As for the foundry, i won't ever really be happy with it until i can create custom sized blocks with ample color/texture capability, but it's possible that the new interior editor might include this capability or be a decent work around for that problem.

Fleet Policies and Updates / Stargate-Union: Fleet Update - 2/2/2014
« on: February 02, 2014, 12:36:47 AM »
Greetings everyone, i hope you are all enjoying the Season 8.5 update.  It's great to have another feature episode including a well known trek actor, and i'm pretty excited to start getting more use out of old ships with the new quick equip and starship switching functions.  I'm very happy to see the game continue to evolve and provide new ways to increase the fun.

I'd like to remind everyone that we have a Teamspeak 3 server located at ts.stargate-union.com
There is no password required, and it is available 24/7.  Please feel free to connect at any time.  Even if the leaders are not online, you can still connect and invite others to join you.

As always, complete info regarding teamspeak, promotion policies and other fleet information is available on our website at www.stargate-union.com

On another subject, i'm happy to congratulate Zohan@oxzohanxo on his pormotion to Colonel.  As a Colonel, he will join the fleet leadership, and assist in running the day to day operations of the fleet.  Zohan is a longtime member of SGU and i'm certain that he'll prove a valuable asset to the fleet as a leader.

Peace and long life,

Fleet Policies and Updates / Re: System Lords: Fleet Update - 9/27/2013
« on: December 03, 2013, 10:24:20 PM »
Well i can certainly understand things being too busy in RL.  I've definitely cut back on the amount of time i spend in-game in the last year as well.  I've tried to stay as active as possible, even though it's often only to throw some stuff into the holdings, or to see if anyone's up for promotion.  But not everyone has made the time to log in regularly.

I admit that i've been putting off the roster cleanup.  I intended to do it shortly after the fleet mail went out, but i just never felt that i had the time.  I'm now planning to get it done by this weekend.

As per the original announcement, all members, including senior officers will be demoted if they exceed the inactive period, with one exception...

Baha and myself, the fleet commandants, will always remain at that rank, regardless of any other factors, and we will always be the only ones at that rank.  This is for the security and stability/peace of mind of the entire fleet.  It's a lesson we learned the hard way, and we believe that this policy ensures the stability of the fleet by eliminating the potential for a dramatic power struggle, like what happened before.

As for kicking inactive members, we can do that to a certain extent, but i'll need to discuss it more with mark and baha.  To start with, i think we can certainly kick any Enlisted that haven't logged in in a year, and probably Lieutenants too.  I'm referring to their true rank though, as defined by role and contribution level.  I mention that because there are some members that held higher ranks that have already been reduced to Lieutenant.  There are certain members that are friends of ours that we may also decide not to kick, but we'll decide on a threshold for kicking regular members that are inactive for extended periods.

So as i said, my plan is to clean up the roster this week/weekend.  I'll also post an invitation to the fleet as the MOTD on the fed side.  Callu you can certainly recruit people as soon as you like.  I'll continue to keep up on promotions, and i'll try to start spending more time on my klingon, and try to encourage the other senior officers to do the same..

Fleet Policies and Updates / Stargate-Union: SGU Fleet Bank - 10/12/2013
« on: October 12, 2013, 05:56:37 PM »
Hello Stargate-Union.

As you know, there exists a thing called the fleet bank.  Our bank has seen a lot of activity from a small group of members, but most of you never use it.  That's probably because we've never really talked about what specifically is the proper and fair way to use it.  So here it is.

The items in the fleet bank are there for anyone to use.  If you see an item that can help you, you are welcome to withdraw it.  However, we ask that you only withdraw items that you will actually use.  Do not withdraw items to sell for energy credits.  If you are in need of energy credits, there are many ways to make credits quickly.  You can ask for tips in the Stargate Union chat channel, or in fleet chat, or you can send a mail to a fleet leader for help.  As always, we are happy to help our fellow fleet members in any way we can.

Everyone in the fleet has access to the fleet bank, and your withdraw permissions increase as you increase in rank.  There is a daily item withdraw limit for each tab in the bank.  You will see how many items you are allowed to withdraw in each tab.

The items you withdraw are deposited by other fleet members that want to help the fleet, so please return the favor and help others in the same way by depositing items that you won't use.

Almost any item is welcome in the bank if it can be useful to someone, however there are a few items that really just take up space.  Items that are acceptable to deposit are weapons, consoles, ship and ground equipment, particles, consumables, repair components, etc...  Other items such as pets, doff packs and xp boosts are also welcome.  Equipment deposits should be green quality mark X or better.  Please do not deposit tribbles, food items,  or lockboxes.

Please feel free to send any questions, comments, or concerns to any of the fleet leaders, or post on the fleet forum, located at www.stargate-union.com/forum

Thanks,
-blevok

Fleet Policies and Updates / System Lords: Fleet Update - 9/27/2013
« on: September 27, 2013, 09:34:28 AM »
Greetings to the System Lords members.

I realize things have been in disarray here for a while.  After the big split on the federation side, we also lost some key contributors here, so things really slowed down.  But i just want to reassure everyone that we have not given up by any means.  We've made some good progress with our holdings, and with your help we will continue to grow.

Bank permissions have been reset so that everyone has some form of access to items, and your access grows as you increase in rank.  The purpose of the fleet bank is to help the fleet, so please feel free to take anything that can help you.  And if you have something that you won't use but could be useful to others, you can donate it to the bank.

We've recently revised the rank structure.  Promotion requirements are as follows.  Lower ranks are based on fleet credits earned.  Higher ranks are held by department heads and leaders.
Lieutenant - 35,000
Captain - 200,000
Major - 500,000 (or 350,000 if you are also active on our teamspeak)

If you do not meet the requirements for your current rank, all you have to do to keep your rank is remain active.  Any player above lieutenant that goes inactive for 90 days will be reduced to lieutenant while you are inactive.  When you return, you will be returned to your appropriate rank based on credits earned, or leadership role for higher ranks.

We appreciate your support and loyalty, and we look forward to the future of the System Lords.
Please feel free to contact me @blevok anytime with questions, comments, etc...

Fleet Policies and Updates / Stargate-Union: Fleet Promotions - 9/15/2013
« on: September 15, 2013, 12:49:01 PM »
Hello again Stargate-Union.

Two weeks ago, on September 1st, our fleet project manager (@ussexcaliber1) sent out a notice of pending changes to the rank promotion requirements.  A delay of two weeks was decided on, in order to give our members a chance to reach the next rank before the changes take effect.

As of today, September 15th, those changes are now in effect.  Anyone that reached the requirements under the old scale has now been promoted, and any new promotions from here forward will be based on the new scale.

If you do not meet the new requirements for the rank you currently hold, all you have to do to keep your rank is remain active.  If you go inactive for a period of 90 days, your rank will be reduced until you return to active duty.  Additionally, all members who have progressed past Lieutenant that go inactive for 90 days will be reduced back to Lieutenant.

If you return to the game after being inactive, and find that you've been demoted, simply send a mail to a fleet leader, or post on the fleet forum, and you will be promoted back to your appropriate rank.  The purpose of this change is to keep the higher ranks from becoming cluttered with inactive players.

The new promotion requirements are as follows:

Lieutenant - 35,000 fleet credits earned
Captain - 200,000 fleet credits earned
Major - 500,000 fleet credits earned  (You can also be promoted to Major at only 350,000 credits if you are also very active on Teamspeak)

Note: These changes also apply to our klingon fleet (System Lords)

The full details of the promotion requirements and rank privilages can be found here:
www.stargate-union.com/rank

Please send any questions related to promotions to either @blevok or @ussexcaliber1

And as always, please feel free to send any questions, comments or concerns to any of the fleet leaders, or post on the fleet forum, located at www.stargate-union.com/forum

Hello Stargate-Union

On behalf of all the fleet leaders, I would like to express our appreciation and gratitude to all members of the fleet for the hard work and resources you all have put in.  The fleet starbase is now at Tier 3, and both the Embassy and Dilithium Mine are now Tier 2.  We couldn't have made it this far without you, and with your help we will continue to grow and build our holdings to their full potential.

I'd also like to remind everyone to take a few minutes and visit the fleet website from time to time.  It's still a work in progress, but you can find useful information to help you stay connected with the fleet.  Just go to www.Stargate-Union.com and have a look around.

On the Ranks and Promotions page, you'll find information about promotion requirements and rank specific permissions that you have been granted.

On the fleet forum, you can create an account and communicate with the fleet when not in-game.

You'll also find information about how to connect with us on Steam, Facebook, and Teamspeak.

On the SGU Chat Channel page, you'll find info about how to join our in-game chat channel, called Stargate Union.  The chat channel enables you to communicate with the fleet, even if you're currently playing on another character that is not in the fleet.  You can use the Stargate Union chat channel on any character on your account, regardless of what faction or fleet your other characters are in.  It's the best way to communicate with the fleet from anywhere in-game.

If you ever have any questions, comments or concerns, you can message any of the fleet leaders at the following handles:

@blevok
@bahamut8591
@ussexcaliber1
@leosg1

There are also many other fleet members that are always willing to help a fellow member, so don't hesitate to use fleet chat and the SGU channel to ask for help when you need it.

Peace and long life,
-blevok

Hello everyone, in case you don't already know, there is a major C-Store giveaway happening this week.

Each day, from now thru friday, an item will be chosen to give away free for one day.  At about 10am pacific time, the item of the day will be announced in the news section of the forum.

All you have to do is go to the C-Store in-game and claim the item.  Once claimed, the item is unlocked and available for every character on your account, and that includes new characters you create in the future.

Todays item is the DS9 Uniform, so if you don't already have it unlocked, go to the C-Store, in the appearance tab, and claim it.  You can get it until 10am tomorrow, when it will return to normal price, and a different item will become free.

There will be some great items, including ships, so don't forget to log in every day and get your free items.

Go here to see the daily announcements:

Peace and long life,

Hello all, blevok here. First off i'd like to welcome all the new members to the fleet, and also i'd like to thank all the members that have switched over from our old fleet.  We're working hard to build up the starbase. The current strategy is to get to tier 2 as fast as we can. After that, we'll start adding more provisioning projects. We greatly appreciate the contributions you have all been making.

Promotions

Our promotion policies are based on earned fleet credits for lower levels, and general participation for mid to high levels.
The first promotion, Lieutenant, happens once you earn 20,000 credits.
The next promotion, Captain, happens once you earn 80,000 credits, but you also need to be in the fleet for at least a week before recieving this promotion.
Promotions to Major and beyond are based on your general level of participation.  You can show that you're interested in higher level promotions by participating on teamspeak, joining team play events, recruiting new members, etc...

Fleet Bank

The fleet bank is there to help the fleet. If you see something that would help you, you can send a mail to a leader requesting items, and we'll withrdaw and mail them to you.  Some items can be withdrawn without the help of a leader, such as particle traces and consumables.  When you click on a bank tab, it will show the number of items that you're able to withhraw per day.

As far as depositing, there is limited space for items, so please restrict your deposits to uncommon MK X and above for weapons and equipment. If you have lower level items that you dont need, you can sell them to a vendor for half their listed value, which is more than you would get by simply recycling them.

Everyone that joins the fleet gets invited to our chat channel "Stargate Union". Check the channels tab of chat options to find and accept the invite.

Our teamspeak server is located at ts.stargate-union.com

If you have any questions, please feel free to send a mail or pm to blevok@blevok or bahamut8591@bahamut8591

Thanks,
-blevok

Only in this section I have a reply option.

Please review my permissions to reply in all other sections of this forum, thanx!

I'm looking into this problem, it seems to be more than just a simple issue with permissions.  I'll post an update when it's resolved.  Thank you for reporting this.

Edit:
I did a test to try to reproduce the issue, but i was unable to see it.  I'll need a little more info to help me track down the problem.
There are two ways to reply.  There is a small reply button above the first post and below the last post, right next to the buttons... notify, mark unread, etc.  The other way to reply is the quick-reply box, which will be at the bottom of the page.  You can control whether this box shows up expanded, collapsed, or not at all.  These settings can be found in your account settings, in modify profile > look and layout preferences.
So are you saying that you are unable to use, or don't even see, either of the reply options in any thread outside of this section?

i've always liked clean and simple episode lists, but just a word of warning, clicking any of the episodes on those pages gives me a warning about a reported attack site.  i didn't proceed any further, and i don't have time right now to investigate the sites, so just be careful, make sure your virus/malware blockers are up to date and running, just in case.
