Bank policies remain the same as outlined in our Fleet Bank policy :
The items in the fleet bank are there for anyone to use. If you see an item that can help you, you are welcome to withdraw it. However, we ask that you only withdraw items that you will actually use. Do not withdraw items to sell for energy credits. If you are in need of energy credits, there are many ways to make credits quickly. You can ask for tips in the Stargate Union chat channel, or in fleet chat, or you can send a mail to a fleet leader for help. As always, we are happy to help our fellow fleet members in any way we can.
Everyone above Ensign in the fleet has access to the fleet bank, and your withdraw permissions increase as you increase in rank. There is a daily item withdraw limit for each tab in the bank. You will see how many items you are allowed to withdraw in each tab.
The items you withdraw are deposited by other fleet members that want to help the fleet, so please return the favor and help others in the same way by depositing items that you won't use.
Almost any item is welcome in the bank if it can be useful to someone, however there are a few items that really just take up space. Items that are acceptable to deposit are weapons, consoles, ship and ground equipment, particles, consumables, repair components, etc... Other items such as pets, doff packs and xp boosts are also welcome. Equipment deposits should be Blue quality (Rare) or better. With Authorization of Command, I will be lifting restrictions on the repositories of the SGU Bank, with the exceptions of the Crafting Materials - (they will remain the same) on Saturday October 8th 2016 for the day ! It's time to "Clean out the Bank" ! Take what you wish, use it for what you like, just take it ! No need to bring phasers or masks... it's open and free ! Bring an extra shuttle to haul it away ! Refreshments will be available at the Kiosk !

To answer your questions,
1.- 20 hrs for research - you can use Di-lithium to reduce the time and speed the process ( this is for crafting and upgrade research) i.e - Finish Now (XXX dil)
2.- SGU Chat channel instructions can be found here: http://stargate-union.com/chatchannel.html
3.- Teaming up with other members is easy, look in SGU roster (Your Fleet button on mini map and Roster tab) and right click on their name and "invite to team"
4.- First, that char will have to leave the other fleet, then have a member lieutenant or higher invite him to fleet or contact an officer online to invite as well.
We welcome all questions and are glad to help out with our new members (to the game and to the fleet)

Born in Vulcan, Alberta Canada, and as a kid, liked to take things apart to see what made them tick... much to his parents displeasure...lol. Raised on a farm, was used to long days and hard work from morn till nightfall. Eventually left home to study at Star fleet Academy and graduated with Honors. Met his beautiful wife at the academy and has been married to her for 33 wonderful years, has 4 grown children and 4 grandchildren.
For his Tour Of Duty he began as an ensign on the U.S.S. ION 1 and worked his way up to Fleet Admiral on the U.S.S. Megaverse Advanced Fleet Tactical Escort.
A long time member of Stargate-Union and has attained the rank of General in the Fleet as Community Officer of the Fleet.

Star Trek Online is currently running a special limited-time event battling the invading forces of the Mirror Universe. This event runs until Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 7AM PDT.
Players who have level-50 Federation, Klingon and/or Romulan characters can queue up for this remastered, cross faction 5-captain event to defeat the Mirror Universe forces and earn Multidimensional Transporters. After collecting 14 of them, players will be able to run a new Event Reputation project to be rewarded with 50,000 Dilithium Ore, 500 Fleet Marks, 250 Marks of Your Choice and a unique Very Rare Duty Officer.
