RolePlaying (RP) Area / Kek'tar!
« on: June 05, 2012, 04:03:12 PM »
Tek ma tek.  Lo'tak meta satak blevok, a 71 year old jaffa once in the service of Imhotep.  I was loyal to my god throughout his deception of the rebel jaffa.  Upon his murder by Teal'c, I remained undercover and lived among the tau'ri and many shol'va on a secret base of the tau'ri.  I discretely transmitted information to Anubis about a new weapon the tau'ri were constructing, and as reward Anubis gave me the gift of immortality and allowed me to serve him.  Since his dissapearance, I have traveled to many worlds, and battled many tau'ri along the way.
I am a capable warrior, however my time among the tau'ri has left me with occasional disturbing visions of another life.  In the visions, I often sit in front of a glowing box, with another glowing box to my side.  I'm not sure what it means, but I have the vision often.  I am convinced that the only way to find peace and bring meaning to my life, is to continue to do battle with the tau'ri, and to hunt down shol'va until the return of my master Anubis.

Stargate-Union / Re: Set up STF time
« on: June 05, 2012, 12:22:04 PM »
it's an attractive idea, but realistically, you'll find that getting four other fleet members to get on at the same time and do 3 or 6 stf's in a row, will be a challenge at best.
your best bet is to get on our teamspeak at ts.stargate-union.com around early evening (america time) and join or try to form a group to do all the stf's.
if you love doing elite stf's and want to get the optional every time, i highly recommend joining the EliteSTF chat channel.  trust me, you'll be much happier after joining, and you'll never click the PvE queue button again (at least not for stf's).  and make sure to set the channel color to something noticeable, so you have every opportunity to do the stf's you want.

well i still play bridge commander every once in a while, because it's still the best star trek/space combat game ever, and it's still got an active community and lots of mods.  after SGR, i got hooked on lead and gold, just because the gameplay is very similar to SGR.  also, i still play through dominion wars and invasion of cardassia once every year or so, but that's pretty much the extent of my gaming.  so aside from STO and LaG, the rest of the games i play are over 10 years old.

i know at least two strategies for each elite space stf that are guaranteed to win the optional with over five minutes to spare.  well, except infected.  there's really only one way to go on that one.  i'll go into more detail later when i have some time.  i'm not too sure about ground though, i've only played a few ground stf's.

Stargate-Union / SGU Fleet Uniforms
« on: April 01, 2012, 12:28:36 AM »
After some recent inquiries from fleet members regarding my uniform, i decided to post some instructions on how to create it.  We do have a fleet uniform saved, however fleet uniforms cannot be saved with unlockable items, so other than being green, the one that's saved isn't very stargat-ey.

To make the official Stargate-Union SG team member uniform, you must purchase the Mercenary set for 400 C-Points from the C-Store. When you enter the tailor screen, select "off duty" in the drop down menu at the top right of the screen.

The following images show the uniform and all the settings.  You can customize the colors of course, but i believe the green uniform with black flac jacket and belts look the most like stargate.

When you are finished, remember to save your outfit and finally, click purchase.  You must click on purchase when making any changes to your uniform, even if the changes don't cost anything.

Here's some other familiar looks you can create in STO

General Discussion / Stargate-Union fleets
« on: January 09, 2012, 01:27:33 PM »
Stargate-Union is the original Stargate fleet in Star Trek Online, a Free-2-Play MMO set in the vast universe of Star Trek.  We are an active fleet and we regularly engage in team activities including PvP, STF's, episode missions and more.

By joining a Stargate-Union fleet, you are not obligated to participate in any special events or missions.  You can continue to go at your own pace, but if you need any help with anything, don't hesitate to ask.  Galactic domination is of course among our goals, and we will do whatever we can to achieve that end.

Stargate-Union is a drama-free coalition of fleets.  We seek to co-exist peacefully with fans of other sci-fi franchises (even Star Wars).  Spamming, extreme trolling and being a douche on the forum or in-game are against fleet policy and could get you kicked.

We have fleet emblems saved, and fleet uniforms, so if you like you can wear them by selecting a uniform at a tailor, and display the emblems on your uniform and on your ship.

If you are a Steam user, please join our Steam group at http://steamcommunity.com/groups/SGU-STO

And join us on Teamspeak 3 at ts.stargate-union.us

So come meet us in game and join Stargate-Union!

On the Klingon side, join us in the KDF Honor Guards fleet.  Our enemies will tremble in fear as we conquer their worlds and enslave the populations.  Let it be known that all who oppose the KDF Honor Guards will be brutally defeated.
