Default what can i play while i'm waiting?

my motherboard craapped out on thursday, and the new one i ordered will likely arrive sometime between wednesday and next monday (i don't have a tracking number yet). for the time being, i'm on a laptop with intel pentium m 1.73Ghz, mobile intel 915gm express (128mb), and 1 gig of ram.

i'm looking for a browser based free shooter. a quick search found many options, but i don't really want to spend a whole day trying games until i find a fun one. regular war theme is fine, or scifi theme, but i'm not too big on cartoonish animated games.

anyone know something to help ease my withdrawals?

You can try this. This is Perfect Dark from Nintendo64, if you remember back in the 2000's. My favorite game to play when I was a little kid. You have to download that thing it ask's you to, in order to play it. Here's the link...

See you in game!

yeah that list was the top result when i searched. i looked at battlefield heores, but i don't think it's actually browser based, the faq says it's a 1gb installer.
looked at quake live too, but it's minimum requirement is the gfx card that's in this pos laptop, so it probably won't run too smooth.

continued to search and found orange fps, but even at lowest settings i was getting like 10 frames per second, so everyone was owning me.
the search continues...

yeah this is looking like the best option. perfect dark was awesome, but... "plugin not available"... bummer. i'll try to search and install it manually in a bit, hopefully it will work.

thanks for the suggestions guys. hopefully the folks at ascend tech will send me a tracking number today so i know exactly how long i'll have to wait. and no, i didn't choose them just because of the name. they had the best price on the mobo i need, plus they're only one state away from me, so maybe shipping will be quick.

Two awesome free games:

A very good multiplayer shooter. Something like CSS. More realistic though IMO.

A game released to the community by M$. Very team oriented space shooter. Heh, their text-based communication should be emulated by SGR. Its like the V menu * 1000. Very nice. There are also different roles in a team; you can play commander, and make huge strategic decisions, directing people to attack, defend, expand resources etc. You can also play midlevel tactical, leading a bombing run etc., running capital ship attacks, or you can player lower tactical, scouting out new areas, responding to base attacks, bomber escorts, miner defense etc. Lots more I can't remember. Awesome game.

Oh wtf that is exactly the same happening to me at this moment, also looking for something else, found it by learning how to program games ^^

My Backup System is even the same as yours. Rodney Mckay did you play arround with alternate realities aggain? xD

What does run and makes fun is "Minecraft". http://www.minecraft.net/
