i find it kind of strange that on the firesky website home page it says
"smack a clip into your assault rifle and enter STARGATE RESISTANCE"
but wait are there even assault rifles in SGR?
i just felt like i had to say this (really bored)(laptop currently down and cant play)

A P90 is a Tactical Assault Rifle/Personal Defense Rifle.

the p90 is an assault rifle because it has selective fire and a detachable magazine, but i believe fn prefers to call it a personal defence weapon.

A P90 is classified as a Carbine or a Sub-Machine gun depending on the country of reference.

I believe its actually classified as a personal defense weapon, which is more like a submachine gun than an assault rifle.

But honestly, thats just nit-picky.

Yea FN list it as a Personal Defense weapon. Though that isn't a weapon classification. It just means that it is meant as a close quarters combat weapon. Small and compact.

It actually uses pistol ammo, though it has a carbine shape and has a higher muzzle velocity then most sub-machine guns. So some countries call it a Carbine, due to shape and fighting range and a lower muzzle velocity then a rifle. Others call it a Sub-machine gun cause, while it is still a higher muzzle velocity, it still servers the same close quarter purpose.

So yea no where near an assault rifle. I wish they had assault rifles or Light Machine guns.

Just out of curiosity, am I the only one here who thinks that "smack a clip into your assualt rifle" is a terrible tagline regardless of whether or not the P90 is actually an assault rifle? It make it sound like their main selling point is the fact that the soldier takes forever to reload his gun (although I admit that if it didn't, then I'd probably complain that the soldier is overpowered).

i thought it was quite shrewd, as the p90 is one of the few guns you smack the clip in (as its top loaded).

but perhaps i'm giving credit where its not due and this was in fact just a lucky coincidence!

oh, and smack sounds faster than these;

slot a clip into your assualt rifle
load a clip into your assualt rifle
place a clip into your assualt rifle
manhandle a clip into your assualt rifle

what do you think makes it sound faster than smack? all i can think of is

slap a clip into your assualt rifle (very similar tho)
bang a clip into your assualt rifle
beam a clip into your assualt rifle

and the 2nd two, which do sound faster, also sound silly!

Talking

Actually, I was talking about the fact that they were trying to sell the game based on the concept of reloading your weapon. This is the first Stargate game since the Sega Genesis, and yet they choose to market it based on reloading your gun. They couldn't find a tagline that doesn't apply to every other shooter out there?

It's definitely better than "throw down a Frisbee and watch it turn into giant gun", though.

haha, yeah or:

"spend the first week getting stabbed in the back by invisible people"

or perhaps:

"with a cloud of poison gas, you just can't miss!"
