Unhappy macro error getting relly annoying now

first it just happened randomly, but now every match gets interrupted with this error, and the game totally quits back to my desktop. it says suspected macro operation... i'm not cheating, if that's what it thinks.

i think its my nostromo speedpad. when i'm using it, it happens every time. i tried using the keyboard and disabled the nostromo, and no problems. that sucks, i really would like to be able to use it. here's what it looks like

i've researched this and found that it's a common complaint about hackshield.
people mentioned two soluions. you can do something in the registry to make hackshield work with controllers, or you can use a program called xpadder.
i tried xpadder, and it works in windows. when i open a notepad and press the controller buttons, it types the right letters, but for some reason the letters don't pass into the game.
i'm reluctant to try the other method, but i really hate using the keyboard.

with most anti hacking programs, alot of companies dont allow the use of multiple key strokes being sent to the server at the same time, as this can give an unfair advantage to players.

I dont know if this is the case with hackshield, my guess is that it is sensing multiple keystrokes at the same time that would not be humanly possible with special hardware or software.

Make sure that the key strokes that are sent do not contain multiple commands, like jump shoot, etc, these it could sense as unfair macros and kick in the hackshield.

A good example of this is the ultimate BF2 Jump crouch shoot, which made your characters hit window very very small, but still allowed you full shooting capability.

the buttons on my controller are programmed to send individual letters, just as a replacement for a keyboard, with a different layout. but the nostromo profile editor does have the capability to record complex macros and assign them to buttons. i don't think hackshield is detecting macros though, from what i read, it sounds like it's scanning the running processes for known macro capable programs.
i read that gameguard, another anti-cheat program has a whitelist for controller software, but since the nostromo software can record macros, it wouldn't make the list.
the only solution i can see is to get xpadder to work with the game, but it only half works for some reason, as i mentioned earlier.
