Default go through the stargate to go into servers!!!

wouldn't it be cool if you logged in to stargate resistance and you chose SL or SGC and it will take you to a stargate where you can dial out to the planet like the sgc, armana, primases, leonops and you will then arrive at the map as normal.

but prehaps in future maps you can chose the planet and then come out of the stargate on the map now that would be awsome tell me what you guys think but i must give credit to BCtrianers it was mostly his idea i really hope the idea becomes a reality!!!

by the way i just noticed i wrote sever page not server page lol.

i saw that post too. good idea, but it sounded familiar. turns out i said the same thing back in may...

but hey, every old idea is new again a few months down the road.

anyways, i think there should still be a main map screen like it is, but with the addition of traveling from world to world via stargate. however standard spawning should be replaced with more stargatey entrances. on every map, both teams should be either gating in, ringing down, or beaming. perhaps more options too, like emerging from a crashed ship or fighter, or from a sarcophagus.

I am in favour of this idea, but only at a later stage of the games developement, I would rather the Devs work on bug fixes and new content like skins etc so voted as such, but do another poll in a few months time and I will probably vote differently.

If that main Area got NO chat it is a good idea.
Look at what all those "look i got no cloth and sitting in the water ghihihihi" childs did to the Guild Wars PVP Areas. That was no Game anymore, just a 3D chat. And they used Server ressources with that.

I like it
And naturally my mind wandered with this thought later marrying it with my own.

So do you reckon this could replace the galaxy screen?
My additions:
- once you have chosen either SL or SGC side, you appear in 1st person view on a planet/ship respective of that team (E.g. SGC team using a computer with selectable glyphs dials out of the SGC gateroom, and the SL using a DHD dial out of a room like the spawn room for the SGC map.)
- Devs could release 'addresses' to us once they've created a new map and we can enjoy that brief ecstasy of dialing the gate and being transported to one of the maps. Also this would eliminate having to labour over the galactic map with additions, which btw looks limited with just four worlds of thousands for new players (ergo it can be shelved).
- players could have the option of manually dialing an address or selecting from a list with short bios of each planet (also containing server info - how full, private server, clanwar, etc)
