What's wrong with getting some more money for a game that is essentially in development.

If you were in their shoes, and you were going to release a game but realised you can't afford to finish it completely so you decide to release the game early to try and raise some funds. You decide to keep the game at a low cost to attract people, but build in some added skins that people can purchase OPTIONALLY.

Yes it is a ploy to get money, but if I had a choice of not having a game because they can't afford to continue development OR paying insignificant dollar amounts for some skins to HELP continue development. Its a no brainer to me!

I pitty all those that do not wish to help development of the game, and hope Firesky increase the price of the game if/when they ever make the game as a complete package including all the added skins/maps/chars etc.

I didn't complain about anything. The OP asked a question and there are answers. Funny enough all those skins they are making people pay for were able to be used, by accident, during the beta.

The next map to be released is confirmed to be free. as far as packs go there has been no official announcement stating that there will be any map packs, only speculation.

Fair? Eh normally I expect to beat a $20 (on release) game within a few hours but this game and the time it takes to level up proves otherwise. Great game and great guys playing it.

I bought all of them. This wasn't because I thought they were the "to get" items. It was to support this company $5.00 is less than lunch while at work most days. While I hope they don't make all unlocks purchasable, some I'm okay with.

No one said it was to fund SGW, it is to fund the further development of SGR.

Bottom line is, if you dont like it, bugger off out of these forums. Not rocket science.

Erm. I guess you've never heard of "Vanity Items" before, they're not a new development specific to SG:R, many online games offer them.

You're constantly trying to justify your point that they were "evil" for using these vanity items to make money, perhaps if it requires this much justification you could re-evaluate whether or not there is a more justifiable reason than simply - they were "not cool" for doing it.

Then i see other people running around with differnt armor on, and i thought "dang this game is going to be as indepth as call of duty" (how u have to unlock new things and rank up).. but later on i found out that you buy the skins from the developers.WoW how lame. so now there is two new skins bins to purches witch makes this game $30.00 if you bought them.
see people, this is why consoles are bad.

1) no call of duty game has had depth. really.

2) unlocking things and ranking up is not new, nor were they the first to do them

3) they are going to be implementing unlockables. i am personally meh on unlockables, especially when it alters balance.

I haven't bought the other ACP's yet because money is really tight at the moment. Although, I did preorder the game so I got the preorder bonus ACP.

i have just as much a problem with them selling the ACP's as if they charged for maps--none. I don't want them to charge for maps and new classes etc. but I would understand if they did. They need money, and you don't have to buy the items if you don't want to. If you don't like it Simon, then don't buy them, but if they're worth it, then buy it. Its as simple as that.

Yeah, what beta? SGW? And what game doesn't sell addons that were premade anymore?

I bought them all for two reasons:

1. Because I truly wanted to get them because they all look cool.

2. I wanted to support the game as much as I could and frankly for 20 bucks for the game and 15 for the add ons. Lets just say I've spent MUCH MUCH more for games that were either terrible or lost my interest.

Most companies are smart enough to call that a collectors edition or something like that.
So now the evil is in the semantics. >.< They didn't call it the right thing? You good Sir - seem to have issues way beyond the bounds that this thread is capable of dealing with. Would you like to start a thread explaining how "Additional content" should be marketed and sold or make a solid case as to why it should or should not be?

Disagreeing and attempting to discredit for the sake of maintaining disagreement does start to get old ... *snore*
