Well, my name is Emil Ignatevich and I'm 20 years old, which seems to be pretty standard around here. I just got my Bachelor degree in theoretical philosophy, and I'm going to continue study that for a few (aka the rest of my life) years.
I live together with my Labrador (and girlfriend, most of the time) in a 25 square meter apartment, which I pay way too much for. Also, I'm poor.

In my sparetime I either play SG:R or read nonfiction philosophy books; been more of the latter this week though.

[quote=Floyd;723593]Lots of great posts (especially you, Orca, your interests are very akin to mine. We're gonna be good friends! What do you collect? I'm into the Final Fantasy figures and some World of Warcraft), but I had to quote one for ultimate truth:

Thank you very much. Well if we're gonna be good friends does this mean you won't kill me if we meet in game ? hehehe.

I collect mainly the Stargate Atlantis figures. Am waiting for a series 4 with Carson Beckett to come out but not to sure if there will be another series sadly . I also have some halo figures too. I used to collect hockey cards and i have a 2 of the nhl figures. A maple leaf palyer and a Canuck (woo go canucks!!) Can't remember who they are. I also collect Orca items. Me and my boyfriend are both orca lovers.

Uh oh, busted

I have on many occasions accidentally tried to backstab Jaffa when whipping around corners out of reflex. It's usually followed by the Jaffa going: "... what the **** is wrong with that Ash'rak?"

I'm an avid sci-fi fan. Just watched all of SG-1 back to back. i missed loads watching it in the UK years ago, it was awesome to be able to watch them all again. Now I am catching up with Atlantis....

I am 27 and live in the UK's southwest. I have an awesome son who is 5 and i'm self employed. I do all kinds of Computer and web stuffs. obmstudio.com if you interested. Also I have been an Inline skater for like 18 years. I have a website at nowheresk8.com for an indoor skatepark.

blah \o/

I play a lot of games and have been since my first game "Elite" and more relevantly DOOM on LAN. people compare SGR to team fortress but i like this way better.

In real life i practice Wing Chun, skate and build servers for my LAN ^_^
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SqRjh-iSuRI << my one year skating edit... its old now but if you interested there's the link.

My GF plays this game too she is "Hammond-of-Texas" its the only proper PC game she likes playing and i'm building a PC for her to play aswell.

waiting for the next patch....

unfortunate you cant copy that game to pc. The problem is that acorn used silly disk sizes back in 85 to 90, so the game is prity much lost to the ages.

I know mate. I first played it on the BBC puter at college. We managed to hack it so we could copy it (bad boy). You had to make sure the, I think from memory that the sector read read 40 on the floppy so it would work as well as some other fun.

There are PC emulators out there for elite. Let me have a look for you.

No worries mate. You need a strange mind sometimes to find things like old games

Interesting thread. I do have to say it all makes sense now. The average age being around 20 explains a lot.

For me. Name is Bryce, Just turned 29, Have a wife a 4 year old son and a new born on the way. I run multiple different enterprises from home while taking care of my kid(s). Been playing games since I before I was potty trained. Like to say I've been gaming since diapers and will still gain when I get back to them in old age.

Age does not equal maturity.

No but it does qualify wisdom and experience. There are a ton of people in the teens or low 20's talking like they are wise in the world.

Though it is funny you jumped to the maturity concept.

You're 29, and you act like you're the know-all-end-all of posters. That's all I will say in this thread, as I don't want to get into it with you here, and I've been warned about arguing with you. Feel free to keep talking, but my end of the discussion stops now.

Just saying. 18 and 20's still in school, wouldn't know life if it bit them in the ***.

Also I do know about the topics I choose to discuss. I wish others would be *wise* enough only to talk about what they know.

Anyways. You proved case in point. I made a simple statement, also took part in the thread. Instantly, you being in the group described above, jumped on it thinking it was an attack on maturity. When in reality it was just an observation.

That is a pretty generic comment and I would have to disagree with it. Children and teenagers have to experience the realities of real life and younger and younger ages. I would have to argue that a child who has experienced welfare and divorce is more mature and wise than a 23-25 year old that has been sheltered from the world by his/her parents.

I think that your comment deserved to be jumped on or at least paraphrased with more clarity. How did you think we would react to your comment; what was the point in writing it if you we unwilling to expand on your thought? This is the internet and unfortunately mind reading has not been invented yet… maybe if you had made the statement and outlined why you think everything makes sense now that a bunch of us have admitted to being under 25…

Anyway the point is moot. Athough I wouldn't mind knowing why "it all makes sense"

Please do not take this as an attack on you.

For the sake of giving you another point of view. At 15 I left school and got a job. At 17 I was married, at 18 I was running a company at 21 I was broke, at 23 I was Developing Software and User Interfaces with years of life experience that got me a dream job that supposedly educated people couldn't.

All age is, is an amountof time, not experience. I know 6 year olds who've seen more of the world than I have. 5 Year olds that speak more languages.

When you say age = wisdom and experience, you're right but only as a generalisation. It doesn't apply to everyone and it's callous and insensitive to try to insinuate that it does - I would say, it was unwise to do that, as you only managed to antagonist another user by trying to enforce a fallacy by being ageist.

Personally, I'm excited by the maturity and capabilities of a lot of people I've met in the FireSky community, including you Ret - pre-emptive congratulations on the new born.

My name is Nathan I live in Avondale, here in AZ, still haven't been down to CME's HQ but I may one day venture down and stalk them a bit . As far as what I do, I work for an ISP in their NOC monitoring circuits, routing...blah blah blah. I'm currently going to school to get my CCNA which will be followed by the security add on for it. I recently went through a divorce so I have more free time to play games and not be yelled at for doing so .

Also I have a dog
