Default State of SGR

I have been talking to a lot of players in my clan and on TS and a lot of us were wondering about the state of SGR. While I understand a lot is going on in the background that we are unaware of and the only information we do get is incomplete or misrepresented articles about the future of a game we all are fans of. I was hoping that maybe a Dev could get us some insight into the current development process for the game. Several Game breaking bugs are present and if things are on hold we are going to continue to lose player base. The lawsuits in progress are impacting SGR and we aren't demanding anything but I would kindly like to request where SGR is going. I.E. is there still a release impending that we can look forward to are we going to have to wait Months for a change or weeks or days. I for one have lost some interest in playing and was just looking for some light at the end of the tunnel. Silence is only going to continue to contribute to speculation and ill informed opinions about the state of SGR.

Some official word about the development status would help us the players feel more comfortable about our purchase as well as or faith in a very vocal development community that has suddenly gone very quiet.

Thank you,

-=Phoenix=-

You guys have to remember that when a court case is in progress both sides can't talk about it in public, hence the silence. Well, thats how I understand things.

I agree with Aszrayel. Also I think they might not know how to answer these questions until the court situation is completely finished... They might not know how all this is going to pan out. And seeing how involved they are with this tight nit SGR base i'm sure if they could/knew they would..

This thread is not for details of ongoing cases. It is specifically to know of future development of the SGR game. I.E. Patches and new content. We know they have been working on new content for a while and we also know that there are some severe bugs currently in game(I.e. The unlimited stamina on Piramess.) The questions posed here are:

1. Is development continuing
2. Are the patches in the near future to be expected
3. Are we going to have to wait longer now for said patchs or content?

Those are questions that should be able to be answered in a more that one word answers so that we can feel comfortable about going forward.

If SGR were to terminate. No private servers means the game would effectively end.

i think those are the questions could be answered when the court stuff is over.
I mean they could come here and say all the things we want to hear, yes bug fixes, yes more content, yes private servers, yes euro servers, the fact they are silent for the most part makes me think they are unsure about the future because it is out of there hands. I for one appreciate the fact there not giving false hope. But that's just me. Don't get me wrong I would like answers to all the same questions your asking. I guess the only difference is I am not expecting an answer....
I am just glad to be able to log in every night and have some
fun in a game I still find enjoyable Bugs and all...

as i said in another thread...

the court ordered that SGR and all SGW assets be returned to CME/CMG/Firesky

1) it will take time to return everything
2) CME would have to start paying developer salaries
3) CME would have to take over all hosting agreements from DCG for servers/bandwidth
4) if people with DCG do not move to CMG, then it would require hiring new people and that always has a learning curve

we need to know at minimum how those 4 things are going before anyone can really answer any questions

Heh, we are of the same mind. I too take the bugs as part of the game, and part of what makes the game what it is. Elimination of most bugs would drastically change the balance, and other things we take for granted would have to be adjusted anyhow. (eg. fixing the AOE would make the Jaffa even more OP; its a skill to fire only where there is no AOE ). Think through all of the other bugs we live through ...

Teamswitch bug,
Login map bug,
F10 bug,
Turret bug,
Pre Red X,
Red X delay,
Clay knifing == death

You must admit, SGR just would not be SGR without these bugs .

Remember the good old days, when sniping was a SKILL?
The days when you had two claymores ... and THATS IT?!
The days when those claymores had to be placed well, or they would count as a DEATH?!!
The days when no scopes were UNHEARD OF?!
The days when no one aside from Vordian played Commando?

I miss those days. Although it was (OH NO!) hard to play sniper, it was an exclusive class, one that drew respect and admiration from me for any who played it (and everyone else I'm sure). Now, every Tom and Jerry can play sniper with there eyes practically closed lol.

Jaffa too was hard, at least for a beginner. It now has become the Noob-Favorite, taking the cake (YES LALACAKE) from Scientist. There are sooo few chronic scis anymore (*crys*). I miss my chronic scis.

Your incorrect about items 2,3 and 4 - From what I have heard and seen.

However this is a thread for developer response to the questions not users. Your and my opinion or theories do not count here.

Look we can be as vocal as we want but honestly I don't see how us fans can really change anything honestly.

All we have to do is wait and see what fate brings.

I think that a massive time for clan battles and other clan related activities is in order! I would hope that we can find another game to continue playing together and maybe even keep the clans going (I know that is SG-10's plan)

Im sure the devs aren't thrilled about it either, they made a good game and then this happens

what will they do now?
