Midway station was blown-up, and is now useless, as they don't live in Pegasus anymore.

Yeah, with the having the Goa'uld, it is weird. However makes complete sense. Technically, the Goa'uld were never really dealt with fully. The Ori came, and SGC crapped their pants and said, "SCREW THE GOA'ULD, THESE GUYS HAVE MORE THAN GLOWING EYES!"

Who cares if the place is scrapped? Make up some two sentence story about how they went back to recover something, the SL were there doing the same thing, and bam, you have a Team Deathmatch (obvious), King of the Hill (holding resources until you have enough to get the **** out of there), or Capture the Flag (stealing resources from the opposing faction). This is a shooter, not an RPG or MMO.

Done.

and as it has two stargates that can be on at the same time, its the perfect (and possibly the only) map where both teams can gate in!

<3 it.

You guys don't want a real Stargate game then. Go play some crappy mod, and get your fix.

What is unreal about having a midway station map?

Just because SGR is supposed to be set after season 10?

Wow..

Games are meant to take the best elements of the canon to make an enjoyable experience. It sounds like you just want to live the show, go tour the studio or something, lol.

if midway was a map, then the flags could be through the stargate, and assaulting the other base would be EPIC!

SGR takes place in a theoretical Season 14 or 15 of SG1, more than enough time for the midway station to be rebuilt and Atlantis to return to Pegasus. Pegasus is still filled with all kinds of goodies left behind by the Ancients. Goodies which are tens of thousands of years more advanced than the ones found in the Milky Way. Also, we have obligations to planets that we have signed treaties with in Pegasus.

No, you are wrong. The Pegasus tech was thousands of years OLDER. The lived in Pegasus before living in the Milky Way.

No, they lived in Milky Way, a few evacuated to Pegasus, and 10,000 years ago they went back to Earth - but since all the other ancients were dead, they either ascended or integrated into the local population. The Ancients in Milky Way died out way before the Atlantis ones. Therefore, the only development in technology would have been in Pegasus, which is clear by their... advanced equipment.

who cares about a story. if they say anything at all, just say this map takes place when the wraith found a way to gate in, your orders are to kill them and prevent them from reaching earth. or just say nothing at all, let us gate in and find out for ourselves what enemy is there, why they're there(if we even care), and kill them.

It was Ori galaxy then Milky Way galaxy then Pegasus galaxy and then back to the Milky Way galaxy.

A little confusing lol.

The midway station would be an awesome map though. I agree that it would be the perfect map to have both teams advance through a stargate. But given the plot at the end of SG-1 and SG:A I don't think that would work too well.

Although, it looks like we have a pretty epic map coming this month, so I'm not really complaining.

oh dear, some one need to watch more stargate! I watch 1 or 2 (sometimes 3) every day and have done for as long as I can remember. There are so many you can watch them through in order and then start again! love it!

but seriously,

1) they could have rebuilt midway
2) i do want a REAL stargate game, and yet i still dont mind that the touchstone seems to have grown a little since i last saw it a few weeks ago.
3) who cares.

ps. you are wrong about the Anqueetas. easiest way to tell is that destiny started out from earth and then seeded pegasis after the milky way. check out the map in the first SGU episode if you dont believe me.

the story goes that as they, along with the ori, were the first evolution of humans, they lived together, but after falling out with the ori they came to earth to get away from them. some time went by and about 5 to 10 millions years ago the 'soon to be latiens' went to pegasis to escape a deadly plague on earth. Then some came back and stuff... basically ascended and/or dispersed.

As I understand it (and as shown in the pilot of Atlantis), they first came to the Milky Way, populated that, then a virus was killing the ancients, and the survivors fled in Atlantis to the Pegasus galaxy, where they remained for a VERY long time, until the wraith drove them out, and a small group returned to Earth.

why did they put a time period to this? i wouldn't mind if this had just been different battles from all throughout the SG-1 show. That way we could have a more diverse map base. I say get rid of the "story" and just make it fun with cool maps. Doesn't need a timeline.

@Fox: i really admire your devotion to watch 2 episodes a day! Wish i had the time to. Stupid school

On a completely different note, maybe FireSky could work on a BSG game too? please?

lol, wait till you near the end of a degree. I tend to spend about 2 or 3 hours in uni and then 7 or 8 hours a day in front of the computer researching and writing. but I have dual monitors, so have one playing Stargate and work on the other one!!! good times!
