I would not pay 7$ plus s&h for just a plain black and white. I could make a color one for less than that. Anyways... I think an ideal design would be to have the logo on the front (stargate pic and stargate resistance text) and on the back say join the resistance at (web site address) and have a jaffa with staff firing and soldier with p90.

Actually I looked it up, the cheapest shirt I found was for 5.25, which is for one color on both sides. It is 6.05 for full CMYK color process.

And you're right, you would pay more than 7$ plus s&h for a plain b&w shirt lol

examples: http://www.digitalsketch.com/screenprinting-price.html

^ is the pricing

http://www4.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6.aspx?DeptID=53006&CatID=77733&GrpTyp=PRD&ItemID =182da0e&attrtype=&attrvalue=&CMID=53006|77730&Flt r=&Srt=&QL=F&IND=5&cmVirtualCat=&CmCatId=53006|777 30|77733

^ is a plain B&W t-shirt, notice it is on sale for 9.99 ... more than waht you are "willing to pay" and was originally 20 ... I think you need to shop around for t-shirt pricing.

and if you were to go out and buy plain T's (which would run you about 8 bucks for a pack of 4 because good luck on finding them solo) and then buy iron on prints for 16 dollars at 10 sheets (http://www.walmart.com/ip/Epson-Iron....5-x11/4858118)

so thats $2 + $1.60 ... so $3 to make yourself a t-shirt... and it wont' look as good. For one I have found it difficult to get a good iron transfer with those sheets. and also I have found that they leave a yellow spot around the image you transfer...

and you dont' support the company.

And thats just for text and simple pics. If we wanted a stargate, jaffa, and soldier it would cost a fortune.

No it wouldn't... did you look at the chart. For a full CMYK color Process, it is only 6.05 ... which means thats it. no matter what you put on it, it is only 6.05 for a shirt. Plus the company wants to make profit, so they will probably sell them for atleast 10 bucks

This just in from the Dev Chat:

17:22:45 <SGR> Question from supremeaaron:
17:22:45 <SGR> Q: will you be selling any clothes like SGR T-shirts that have being seen on devs in bio pics?
17:22:55 <[DCG]Kat> yes! we are working on designs and plans for a line of Stargate: Resistance merchandise right now. Stay tuned for opportunities for community involvement in the process.

I love t-shirts and I really like the Worlds one but I can't for the life of me find a medium one. I would definitely buy some SGR tshirts as long as they had a good design.

Which actually they have Sam Dieter in Germany (he says he is still doing some work for them) they could send him a batch of 25-50 shirts and then when someone in Europe orders a shirt from DCG they take payment and then call Sam to send it to such and such address, and compensate him for shipping.
None of it would go back to DCG, they would just get the original sale price. The rest would go to the shipping company, Her Majestys Government and the Royal Mail.

Sam Dieter being in Germany would make a big difference to German consumers and would remove the customs charges from other EU consumers (and the Royal Mail admin charge for me and other UK consumers) but DCG would probably incur greater costs themselves (not sure, it would depend on how they set it up I think).

I actually find the Royal Mail to be the best of them. I groan whenever someone ships something by Parcel Force or HDNL. Particularly HDNL, they once left a shipment of books behind a wheeliebin in the rain without even attempting to ring my doorbell. Fortunately the books were shrink-wrapped because the cardboard packaging was soaked through.

Did you get the SG1 box set reshipped free of charge? They should have sent it recorded delivery for something of that price (assuming it was the complete series box set) so you'd have evidence pf not receiving it.

You just contradicted yourself. None of it goes back to DCG or they get the Sale price (w/o s&H)??

so if the shirt is 20 plus s&h they get 20 bucks, or they get nothing? Which is it? And I highly doubt cafe press would allow DCG (or anyone) to use their service without getting paid themselves, otherwise they would go under.

And frankly, this is a way to make money for the company and advertise as well, so if they only way they can do that efficiently is to US customers, then so beit. Sorry it is unfair, but it is business.

I they sold for 20 $ + s&h, then the company who made them would get about 8$. Then DCG (what about firesky?) would get 12. And the s&h goes to whoever ships it (usps, ups, fedex...).

If they sell it out of the office they only get the sale price, additional charges would have nothing to with DCG.

As far as I am aware you can set up a basic shop in Cafe Press for free (premium shops have a fee). There is a set price for each item which covers Cafe Press' costs and the seller marks up how much they want to sell the item for above that basic cost and that is how much money they make from the sale. So for example if the basic price of a T-Shirt was $10 and DCG sold them at $20 then DCG would make $10

There may be better alternatives than Cafe Press - consider them a popular example - but if DCG sell from the office a lot of people may be put off by the additional costs. I would pay more to get a $20 T-Shirt into the country than for the T-Shirt itself:

However much they charge for shipping,

A flat rate £8 Royal Mail handling charge, which converts to $12.

Then the customs charges (which depend on the value of the goods and what type they are).

Shipping and Admin will be more than $20 before customs are even calculated.

Nope. Spoke to HMV. I had to sign a legal document saying I was not committing fraud, and took the option for a resend instead of a refund. I waited a month. Nothing. So I contacted HMV. Surprise, they had problems sourcing the product. So I cancelled at that point. The GF ordered it off of Amazon and it arrived the next day /shrug.

Yep they did. Good timing as well, as SW:TOR have released their merchandise for pre-order.

Yeah, I prefer Amazon over HMV. The shop on the street is fine, but they're not as good online.

omg, this makes me laugh, and cry (if i could cry). i used to be an ebay seller and i had to switch to UPS exclusively due to the number of packages that the USPS would "loose", especially packages headed out of the country. i've heard some pretty crazy stories to explain this phenomenon, but maybe things have changed since then. the last time i had to go to the post office, i noticed a sharp increase in the number of cameras in the building, and very few of them were pointed at customer areas...
