yes very disappointed about that, but it gives me an idea too. i drive a 15 foot white box truck. DCG, send me some giant magnetic sgr logo's, and i'll be a free billboard for you. my truck gets seen by thousands of young people at concerts and events all around the chicago area.

yeah that probably would be fairly easy to accomplish, but the permanent route wouldn't work for me. my truck is often parked directly next to outdoor stages, so it's in thousands, probably tens of thousands of photos that people take of bands playing. most times, that would be fine, but i would need to remove them when i work corporate events.
i actually have gotten several offers to put signs on my truck due to it's exposure, but they were offering chump change for something i didn't want to be associated with. one was for a local septic service. yes, every festival needs porta-johns, but i don't want one on my truck/office. although i suppose it would deter people from breaking into it.

here is what you do if you are willing to spend a little time and money on it.

Plan how big you want it to be. Scale it to the appropriate size on photoshop or similar program. say 3x8 feet (its not that tall) and then either 8 print it like that and see how it turns out or crop it to paper sized sections and then go to walmart and buy the sticky laminate sheets (no heat required) and laminate them all. Then to to a lumber store and buy the right sized peice of balsa wood or similar type thin cheap one (1/8 inch ought to do) and glue all of the pages to the board. The hang it from the top of your truck by rope so it can easily be taken off. Perhaps even cut it in half so you can store it better.

cost less than 100 dollars if yo uare willing to spare it, the time, and the ink

or better yet! just type each letter on a piece of paper as big as you can get it. say 100pt font. spell out www.stargateresistance.com Laminate it and paste it to the board and there you go. Less ink and less time with the cropping process!

perfect. i like the wood frame idea. i've sorta done that kind of thing before. before my color laser printer died, i made a 4 foot stargate by piecing together 20 or so prints, and put it over my mantle. but the coolness didn't stop there. i replaced the puddle with the bajoran wormhole, and hung a bunch of trek ships from the celing with fishing line so they look like they're entering and exiting. i recently finished my model of the deadalus, and it's going up there soon. unfortunately, my wife made me replace the gate with a painting, but the ships are still hanging. oh, and i also took the gate to a convention and taped it to the wall outside my hotel room. and guess who was walking by and stopped to talk to me about it... skaara (can't remember his earth name).

actually, that conversation ended with him backing away in a creeped out sort of way. i later saw him smoking outside, so i was going to apologize for freaking him out, but he doused his smoke and went inside when he saw me coming. after that, i was afraid to even look at him. didn't want him to pull an RDA on us because of me. for years after that, my wife joked that i stalked skaara!
